Wackes creates relationships through products – relationships that build up and strengthen our customers’ brands. Around 50 experts with an immense amount of experience are working all around the world at Wackes’ offices in Borås, Lund, Stockholm, Paris, Oslo, Atlanta, Hong Kong, Ningbo, and Shanghai. Wackes is ISO-9001/14001 certified in Sweden and a member of the UN Global Compact for entrepreneurship respecting human rights and the environment, as well as fighting corruption.
IT ALL BEGAN IN 1983
In 1983, four young colleagues decided to spread their wings. Owing to their common interest in sports, Staffan Pousette, Stefan Lydén, Christer Hellqvist, and Lars-Olof Wackelin founded Wackes AB.
In the beginning they concentrated on delivering sportswear and equipment to local associations in the same way as they had done for their previous employer Sportjohan. As the company grew, the quartet increased its product range and managed to quickly provide medium and large businesses with a full scale product line-up. In 1986, the former NHL hockey player Stefan Persson joined and became a partner at the company.
A few years later they opened the doors to their new office in Stockholm and in 1999 Wackes teamed up with PTH-Z Promotion in Lund. The Wackes CEO, Thomas Davidsson, originally came from PTH-Z. Since then, Wackes has bought up companies such as Sporrong, BANG Promotion, and Stadium Promotion, which makes Wackes one of the strongest companies of its kind in the Nordic countries. Today Wackes is owned by CEO Thomas Davidsson, Key Account Manager Stefan Persson, CFO Dennis Stenmark, Product Range Manager Bengt Krantzén, and Chairman Kurt Karlsson – who are all active in the company.
